Babymoon

Eric and I have been married for almost 3 years, and we have done a pretty good job of cramming as much travel in as we could during these years before baby. Our very favorite thing is to take a long weekend and go somewhere that isn't too long of a plane ride away. We love short trips over a long weekend where we only stay for a few nights but cram as much as we can into the time we have there.  We decided to do this same thing for our "one last hoorah" trip without baby...our Babymoon!  When we booked the trip I was probably 16 weeks along, and planning the trip for when I would be 27 weeks. Because I had no idea how I would be feeling, we wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been together yet, but also somewhere not too far away.  We decided on Santa Barbara for 2 nights, and Santa Monica for one.  We landed in LAX, rented a car and drove along the PCH to Santa Barbara. Let's just say we are OBSESSED with Santa Barbara, had so much fun exploring it and now are wishing we lived there... maybe someday...

While this was our last trip before baby - we are SO excited to have a new little travel buddy with us next time! :)

After our little road trip along PCH, we arrived at the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara. Such a beautiful hotel!

Lots of walking & exploring the grounds at our hotel.

Our favorite meal - breakfast!

Santa Barbara Courthouse

At the very top of the SB Courthouse with a beautiful view!

After a couple days of exploring SB, I was so excited to lay by the pool at our hotel and get some much needed sun.

Eric is obsessed with Pinkberry and we literally had it every day on the trip.

The beach in front of our hotel in SB - Butterfly Beach

Baby girl's new pink converse :)

One last picture at the beach in SB before taking off to Santa Monica

Our road trip snack...so good.

Lunch in LA with my handsome hubby

Shopping for myself isn't as fun anymore when I can shop for her instead!

Our hotel in Santa Monica (The Viceroy) had the cutest bathroom ever.

Being tourists at Griffith Observatory

I could have spent hours in Sugar Paper LA...if only Eric wasn't pacing around out front rushing me along ;)

My cousin works at the Nordstrom in the Grove so we stopped by at the end of her shift to meet her for dinner.

My beautiful cousin Rachel who just moved to LA!

On our last day before heading home, we met up for brunch with our good friends Whitney, Justin and their precious new baby Stetston.

Headed home.

Baby Shower

On May 3, my best friend and her mom threw me the most perfect baby shower!  They threw my bridal shower a few years ago as well - I am so lucky to have them.  I've been best friends with Laura for 20 years now...since first grade!  Our moms are best friends too and her mom is like a second mom to me.   It was the most beautiful day out and baby girl and I felt SO loved to have all of my favorite women there. They spoiled us so much!  My best friend Christine even flew up the day before from SLC with her brand new baby Beckam to be there for me. I hadn't met Beckam yet as he was only 7 weeks old....he's the cutest!!! We are so excited for our babies to be best friends.

Most of the group - love them...especially all the new babies!

Baby Jen & Baby Eric :)

The beautiful hostess and my best friend Laura. Thank you thank you for the perfect shower!

Some of my old baby clothes :)

Baby girl's favorite Aunties...my 3 beautiful best friends. She started kicking when they put their hands there....she loves them so much already!

Baby B is the sweetest. He will be the best little boyfriend to baby girl ;)

Eric and I had so much fun putting away all of her new goodies...she is so spoiled!

35 Weeks.

How Far Along:  35 weeks

Size of Baby: About 5 lbs & 18 inches long - size of a honeydew

Maternity Clothes:  Mix & match of both, but mostly in maternity t-shirts and pants. It's a huge struggle getting dressed these days!

Stretch Marks: None

Sleep:  Pretty awful...lots of trouble getting comfortable and I HATE sleeping on my side. I can't wait to sleep on my back again!! I would say my worst part of pregnancy has been sleeping on my side because my hips get SO sore and wake me up.  We're up to at least 3 delirious bathroom trips per night now too. I'd say its pretty true that pregnancy trains you to be up a lot in the night with your new baby!

Best Moment of the Week:  Knowing its my last full week of working in the office. I love going to work but as uncomfortable as I am it will be so much better working from home the next few weeks.

Movement:  Lots. Big rolls and lots of pressure. She sticks her little bum in the air and holds it there making my belly lopsided! She's also been kicking her little feet at my ribs.

Cravings:  I crave 5 Guys about once a week. Chocolate doughnuts from Albertsons!

Gender: GIRL!

Belly Button In or Out:  Completely out...its been out since first tri!

Wedding Ring on or Off:  Off...once it started to get hot outside my rings became too tight :( So I have a fake band now.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  No

What I Miss: Sleeping through the night and wearing my old clothes.

What I am Looking Forward to:  Baby girl's arrival....which is so crazy to think it could really be any time now!

Labor Signs: None

Nursery:  We finished it last weekend!  I think we have literally everything we need at this point. Just need the baby now!

Emotions:  Anxious. I hate surprises and not knowing when I will go into labor kills me! Also just so excited to meet her. Can't believe its so soon!

[Almost] weekly bump pics...

6 months.

Funny thing.  I started my blog and was convinced I was going to update it often.....and then I got pregnant like a day later.  So its pretty much been exactly 6 months since I've updated!

My pregnancy has honestly been a breeze.  I feel so so lucky with how its gone so far!  Weeks 7-10 I was extremely exhausted [and super busy at work] so I would come home and be in bed by 6pm.  The exhaustion brought on nausea during those evenings.....but I know how much worse it could have been.  Once I hit week 12 I have felt like a normal human and actually forget I am pregnant at times!  I haven't had to take any time off work [not even one day] and haven't felt like I've had to slow down much at all. [Knock on wood!!!] While I am definitely beginning to feel bigger..I hope my pregnancy continues to be this great.

Since I've been MIA, I thought I would share my baby bump progress pics in one place [mostly for me to remember and look at later!] as well as a 6 month update.  Since I've been pregnant I love reading these updates from other girls, and I figure they will be nice to look back on!

How Far Along:  25 weeks on Wednesday!

Size of Baby: 13.62 in, 1.46 lbs! Size of a papaya

Maternity Clothes:  I've been wearing maternity pants for a couple weeks now.  I haven't been wearing maternity tops yet - just wearing a long tank underneath my regular tops. I've been loving shirts with slits in the side....gives my belly room to grow!

Stretch Marks: None yet! [Fingers crossed] - But as of 2 days ago, my belly has been itching like CRAZY :( Baby must be growing a lot this week!

Sleep:  Sleep has been rougher than normal lately.  Waking up at least once a night to pee [usually right around 4:30am], and since I am a back sleeper forcing myself to sleep on my sides - I wake up and my hips are SO sore. Loving my Bumpnest pillow because it helps me stay off my back and on my side!

Best Moment of the Week:  Registering with the hubby and shopping at Baby Gap with my mom!  This is her first Grand baby so we went a little crazy ;)  Another amazing moment: one of my best friends had her baby boy! Seeing her experience it all and now have her precious baby Beckam has made it so much more real for me.

Movement:  Lots of big kicks! We can feel her from the outside now and she kicks the most when I get into bed at night.  My husband and I can even see her kicking occasionally from the outside now - that's my favorite!

Cravings:  I haven't really had any major cravings at all.  Sometimes I crave milk shakes, but I think I craved those before I was pregnant :)

Gender: GIRL!

Belly Button In or Out:  OUT - totally out! I swear my belly button was the first thing to pop out.

Wedding Ring on or Off:  On

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  No

What I Miss: Diet coke and sleeping through the night!

What I am Looking Forward to:  Our Babymoon in a few weeks! Looking forward to the beach, sunshine, and time away with my hubby in a big way.

Labor Signs: None

Nursery:  A work in progress.  We have all the big pieces - crib, sofa & changing table/dresser. Now just accessorizing it and making it ready for our little Princess!  The closet is full though, that's for sure ;)

Emotions:  Feeling normal!

Baby on the way!

On Halloween we got some very exciting news.....we were pregnant!  I had a feeling all day at work that I was, and right when I got home I took the test. Sure enough....my mother's intuition had already kicked in and I got two positive tests!  I ran out into the living room jumping up and down and told Eric. It was such a surreal and amazing feeling.  Handing out candy to the cute little trick or treaters was all the more exciting now that we knew we had a little one on the way!

We kept the secret to ourselves for a few days and then told our immediately family and a few best friends within the week.

Right after we found out :)

Moxee is so excited to be a big sister :)

Texas

In November, Eric and I went to Dallas to visit my brother and see my beautiful cousin get married.  Growing up I went to Texas every summer because a majority of my extended family lives there.  I hope we can start going down to visit family more often now that I have a family of my own!  I love me some Texas shopping, sunshine & BBQ ;)
